 Notice of Public Hearing and Proposed Millage Rates

Notice is hereby given pursuant to Article 7, Section 23(C) of the Louisiana Constitution and R.S. 47:1705(B) that a public hearing of the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury will be held at its regular meeting place in the Police Jury Meeting Room of the Sidney E. Briscoe Building, located at 304 N. State St, Jennings, LA on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 5:00 P.M. to consider levying additional or increased millage rates without further voter approval or adopting the adjusted millage rates after reassessment and rolling forward to rates not to exceed the prior year’s maximum.

The estimated amount of tax revenues to be collected in the next year from the increased millage and the amounts of increase in taxes are as follows:

General Alimony – $1,021,037.87 (Increase: $19,922.69)

Exempted Municipalities – $186,823.24 (Increase: $3,645.33)

Road Dist No. 12 (Wards 6, 7 & 8) – $1,220,492.95 (Increase: $82,556.20)

Fire Prot Dist No. 1 – $56,547.42 (Increase: $793.25)

Fire Prot Dist No. 2 – $597,369.26 (Increase: $19,877.44)

Fire Prot Dist No. 3 – $542,189.33 (Increase: $28,592.02)

Fire Prot Dist No. 4 – $271,937.09 (Increase: $3,456.83)

Fire Prot Dist No. 5 – $168,301.13 (Increase: $1,297.12)

Fire Prot Dist No. 6 – $127,934.62 (Increase: $730.22)

Fire Prot Dist No. 5 Special Main – $167,976.85 (Increase: $1,297.12)

Road Dist No. 11 Ward 4 – $128,519.55 (Increase: $2,627.32)

BID SUBMITALLS:

Bids can be mailed or hand delivered to the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury in a sealed envelope, located at 304 N. State Street, Jennings  LA 70546.  Bids can also be electronically submitted through at Central Bidding (www.centralbidding.com).  For questions related to the electronic bidding process, please call Central Bidding at 225-810-4814. Bid will be listed by Owner and will include Project Number.  Submittals must be submitted by the date and time listed on the BID Schedule.  Digital submittals shall be in PDF format.  JDPPJ is not responsible for issues with delivery service.  All cover letters and subject of all emails shall include project number.  Submittals must include all required documents contained in this package, completed in full, particularly those listed under “Documents Required with Submittal” in the Table of Contents.

2025004 JDPPJ St Improvements CDBG-FONSI-and-RROF

To Whom it May Concern,

On January 16th, 2026, the Office of Community Development granted the Jefferson Davis Parish Police Jury permission to publish the Environmental Review Record (ERR) for project #2025004 JDPPJ St Improvements. Appended to this letter is the “Notice of Finding of No Significant Impact and Notice of Intent to Request a Release of Funds”. The ERR will be available for viewing and public comment for 18 days at the JDPPJ office weekdays 8:00AM to 4:00PM.
